Art and History of this Hermès Scarf
With this scarf, the artist pays homage to William Shakespeare and his famous play A Midsummer Night's Dream, a fairy-tale comedy written at the end of the 16th century. Fairies, elves, lost lovers, and transformed actors cross paths in an enchanted clearing on Midsummer's Eve. The scarf blends references: Méliès' moon, a film projector, and an aesthetic borrowed from Indian miniatures, very fashionable during the Elizabethan era. A dreamlike work, at the crossroads of theater, cinema, and fairy tale, typical of the rich universe of Édouard Baribeaud.
